MRC: Gap Fund: single-step support for medical product development. Deadline: 11 March 2026

About 

This fund provides single-step support for developing a new or repurposed medicine, medical device, diagnostic, or other medical product. Projects should focus on a high-risk development step, supported by prior funding, to generate critical data that either de-risks further progression or confirms failure. 

criteria

  • Award range: £50,000 - £300,000
  • Deadline: 11 March 2026, 4pm UK time
  • Eligibility: you must be based at a research organisation eligible for Medical Research Council (MRC) funding
