The booklet is titled "Tea, Tradition, and Tablets: Assam’s Battle with Antibiotic Resistance".

Shuma, who graduated from IHTM in 2023, is passionate about public engagement and believes in the transformative power of communities to drive meaningful change. An artist at heart, she delights in using creativity to simplify complex topics, making them accessible to grassroots audiences.

Born and raised in Karimganj, Assam, Shuma grew up witnessing the widespread misuse of antibiotics in her community. Her time at IHTM deepened her understanding of this global challenge. Inspired by her experiences, she explored how various factors—such as annual flooding, cattle smuggling, and the porous border—shape antibiotic purchasing and consumption behaviours.

Shuma advocates for community-specific interventions that go beyond a top-down approach to address these issues effectively, not only in Assam but also in other regions with similar contexts worldwide.
