Søren Kudsk-Iversen
Anaesthetic Consultant
- Anaesthetic Sustainability Lead, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer, University of Oxford
Søren is an anaesthetic consultant based in Oxford with an interest in the overlap between health inequities and climate vulnerability, and how routine data of perioperative care can be used to highlight and challenge global and local health inequity. He is often invited to teach on these topics, and regularly teach Oxford University medical students and anaesthetic trainees based in the Thames Valley region.
He has completed an NIHR funded Academic Clinical Fellowship (ACF) in Global Anaesthesia through University of Oxford, where he collaborated with a variety of leading aid organisations and academic institutions to look at perioperative care in humanitarian settings.
In his capacity as anaesthetic sustainability lead at Oxford University Hospitals, he was awarded the staff recognition award for sustainability in 2023 and finalist for the Oxford Climate Awards 2024 in the Climate Action Champion category, and is involved with projects at departmental, divisional, and trust-wide level.
